The Inspectorate of the Government has initiated a probe into alleged extensive corruption within the Ministry of Energy. This action was taken as the Inspector General of Government (IGG), Beti Kamya, conducted a surprise inspection at the ministry today. During the inspection, Kamya requested accountability documents from Permanent Secretary Irene Bateebe. Bateebe has been given until the end of today to provide the requested documents. The IGG's investigation stems from a whistleblower's report regarding corruption, particularly related to contract awards in the Rural Electrification Programme. It is worth mentioning that the recent IGG report on the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has created skepticism among the public. In light of these developments, we have the presence of the IGG herself, Betty Kamya. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition
