At the Nottingham event in June we brought together Liane Groves, Unite Community National Organiser; Rob Jenks, Senior Community Organiser -- TSSA; George Gabriel from Nottingham Citizens and the event was chaired by Catherine Atkinson, Secretary of the Society of Labour Lawyers. Sajid Mohammed, co-founder of the charity Himmah spoke about the value of Community Organising to his community work, which is based in the faith community. said that society had changed so that community actors were acting in silos, and waited for those in need of help to come to them.In contrast, Community Organising was rebuilding links between people.
