The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission distributed election-sensitive materials for the July 13 Local Government Election to 25 local government areas in the state. However, a journalist was barred from entering the Central Bank of Nigeria, Asaba, for the distribution exercise. Security officers stopped the journalist at the gate, stating it was an order from authorities. The distribution was filled with security men and party agents. The election will take place on July 13, 2024, in 25 local government areas, 500 wards, and 5,863 polling units, with 10 political parties registered to participate.
