🙏😂 🇹🇭. My depression and why I moved to Thailand.

Hello for those of you that don’t know Me.
My name is Greg Palmer I’m 56 from Sydney Australia. whilst working from home during lock down I started feeling not so good I became very anxious and then depression set in, I become very emotional an upset, Something I had never felt before, I was having suicidal thoughts, I was feeling a whole lot of things I had never felt before, I wasn’t able to walk far at the time due to an ankle injury so I didn’t exercise I started drinking too much eating bad food and I gained a stack of weight. At that point I thought my life was over. It was only a matter of time until I ended it. I remember thinking if this is my life I’d rather not be here.
I thought of ending it many times. I think the only reason I didn’t was because of the people it would traumatise. The lockdown was certainly taking its toll on me.
Then in September 2021 I had a heart attack I was rushed to hospital, I thought this is it I’m finished. I was tested and it turns out my heart attack was only an anxiety attack caused by stress. I was monitored for 2 days and then sent home. By this time my ankle was starting to get better, and I was able to gradually walk short distances bit by bit I was walking a little bit further every week. I had been seeing my GP re my depression and my ankle, He was a great help, Although I wasn’t feeling as bad as I had been I was still in a bad way still thinking it’s only a matter of time. I was trying to fight this thing, but it seemed I was losing the battle.
At that point I knew I had to do something either end it or make a drastic change.
That’s when I decided to move to Thailand, I had been to Thailand many times exploring the country and I loved Thailand, I’d previously had a Thai girlfriend and travelled to many places in Thailand. The decision was made, as soon as I could get it sorted, I was moving to Thailand for a new life. I don’t have enough money to retire but I do have some passive income and I thought if I could make a bit of money doing YouTube, I’d work the rest out.
So here I am, When I first landed, I thought I’ve beaten the depression unfortunately this wasn’t the case, Although I was feeling a lot better than I had been. It was slowly creeping back. Nothing like before but it was still here. I started having bad days again feeling low, still struggling, But more anxiety than depression. Anyway, I tried hard to be positive and work on my YouTube and I did for a while then it got the better of me. I couldn’t face talking to the camera, and when I did, I would scrap my videos and not post them.
I did this so many times. So many videos went to waste. My YouTube was growing going well until I started doing this, and then it started to plummet the amount of money I earned dropped too just about nothing. Nine months after moving to Thailand I think I’m finally making some headway; I’m hoping I can get both my channel and myself back online.
