Højbro Plads, København (1921) by Paul Gustav Fischer (1860-1934). Fischer was a Danish artist born in Copenhagen. For his frequent depictions of city life, he has been called "Copenhagen's painter" (Københavns maler). Højbro Plads (literally "High Bridge Square") is a rectangular public square located between the adjoining Amagertorv and Slotsholmen Canal in the City Centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. I believe this painting is privately owned as I discovered both this particular work and Paul Gustav Fischer via the Facebook Group Art from the Nordic Countries (highly recommend). Since discovering Fischer, I have fallen in love with his work and have a couple of additional works I plan to eventually feature as Artscores.
I hope you enjoyed your stroll through Højbro Plads.
PLEASE SUPPORT ARTSCORES: What is Artscores? I created Artscores to elevate art appreciation, human connection, and understanding by bringing paintings and their stories "to life" through motion-editing and original custom musical underscore narratives. My goal is to create a multi-sensory immersive experience for my audience which "transports" them "into the painting" rather than viewing from a distance. Each piece of music is composed specifically for the painting as a narrative to express the story and emotion within the painting.
