In this video series ('Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog: Abridged, Reviewed and Ranked') I will be revisiting every single episode of the 1993 DiC-produced animated action-comedy series 'Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog'.
AoStH is the silliest interpretation of Sonic The Hedgehog to date, and appeared to draw just as much influence from the likes of Looney Tunes and Ren & Stimpy as it did the video games on which the series is based.
Growing up, I didn't like this ridiculous, slapstick interpretation of Sonic AT ALL. So, why am I doing this? Because I thought that maybe, if I revisit the show now as an adult, in a time where we have countless different interpretations of this character, I might see something in it that I didn't back then.
As the title suggests, as this series progresses I will be reviewing and then ranking the episodes against each other to build up a complete list of the best to worst episodes.
So join me, as we take a look at episode 2: 'Subterranean Sonic'. In it, Sonic and Tails are exploring the Marble Zone, when they accidentally stumble across some treasure while being pursued by Scratch and Grounder. After being mistaken for thieves by the treasure's owner, Spelunk the Mole, they must escape the mine and it's trap, while also thwarting Dr Robotnik's plans to steal the treasure for himself.
