Today I'm heading away from the tourist areas in Bangkok to a little area called Talat Phlu in Thonburi. We're going to be checking out a really local Thai market, going to a 100 year old coffee shop as well as trying loads of different Thai dishes at a legendary 60 year Pad Thai shop which some people are claiming as the oldest Pad Thai in Bangkok!
Pad Thai Look Baan Sakae serve up an unbelievable pad Thai with prawns, crab and bacon, cooked old school over coals for an unbelievable flavour This is top 5 pad Thai I've eaten in Bangkok!
I'm not sure if Pad Thai Bang Sakae is actually the oldest pad Thai shop in Bangkok but they've had a steady stream of customers for 60 years and told me they've been cooking a lot longer than that!
I really want you to see how well Thai locals treat you when you're away from the tourist areas of Khaosan and the Sukhumvit Road.
