The heads of state of the Philippines and the United States have managed to iron out tensions after statements by President Rodrigo R. Duterte earlier this week were read as a “personal attack on the US President.”
In a statement, President Duterte said that the meeting between the two nations will still push through, although this will be at a later date.
“The meeting between the United States and the Philippines has been mutually agreed upon to be moved to a later date,” Mr. Duterte said in a statement sent by the Presidential Communications Office.
