*Lt Modified Butterfly Tympanoplasty using Tragal Cartilage*

A 28- yrs old male presented with hoh. On endoscopic examination there were left TM perforation. After discussion of prons and cons conses was developed to do Lt Tympanoplasty. Following established aseptic otological protocol transcanal approach was adopted. Tragal cartilage was harvested. Margins of perforation were freshened. Cartilage was fashioned in modified Butterfly fashion, in which cartilage strip is kept in Central part while cartilage with perichondrium has been excised on that surface, while whe of perichondrium is remained intact on other side. This graft is then pushed into perforation and maintained properly. This procedure was carried out on both sides. Canal was filled with gelfaon and polyfax pack for 20 days. Pt was instructed regarding post op care and follow up visit.
