In this video we are crossing the USA border into Mexico with a dog and a car! Crossing the border into Mexico is something we've been a bit nervous about since starting our road trip from Canada, through the USA, and now, into Mexico. Bringing a dog into Mexico is something we have never done before, so this is a big border crossing for us! The experience was a bit confusing and in truth, we aren't sure we did it all right, but we did our best!

Driving all the way from Canada through Central America is going to mean we have many more border crossing in our future. We are doing our best to adjust to the many additional requirements that come with traveling with a dog and a car, but it is certainly a lot more stressful than crossing the border just the two of us. In the car of the USA/Mexico border alone, there were three different check points that we passed from Nogales, Arizona before officially immigrating into Mexico.

If you're doing the same border crossing from the USA to Mexico, you might find this video helpful to ensure you don't miss anything! We made a few errors in our documentation and had to get some help at the border, so be sure to avoid the same mistakes we made.

Once we successfully manage to cross the USA and Mexico border, we took in our first impressions of Mexico and can confidently say we have a lot to learn about traveling here in a vehicle, and with our dog in tow! BUT, one thing we are so excited for is Mexican beaches! Our drive in our first 24 hours in Mexico brought us to the town of Guaymas in Northern Mexico, and this place is stunning! A benefit of driving through Mexico is we will get to see so many smaller town and cities that we would usually miss when backpacking through a country. We cannot wait to see what else Mexico has in store for us as we plan our travels through this amazing country!
