CHOW CHOW KOOTU
Ingredients:
Chow Chow - 1 cup
Diced and cooked bengal gram - ¼ cup
Salt - to taste
Coconut oil - 1 tbl spn
Grind to paste:
Grated fresh coconut - ¼ cup
Green chillies - 1
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
For seasonings:
Mustard, black gram dhal, curry leaves.
Method:
Pressure cook chow chow with bengal gram dhal; for 2 or 3 whistles.
Grind coconut, cumin and chillies to a thick paste.
Open the lid, add salt ground paste and allow to boil for 1 or 2 minutes.
Heat coconut oil, add seasonings, curry leaves pour over kootu. Serve with rice.
