INGREDIENTS
Turmeric root (powder): 2 inches long or 2tbsp powder
Ginger (a small piece); 1 and ½ inches long
Black pepper poedered half tsp (if you prefer you may add more
Garlic: 3 flakes (crushed)
Lemon juice: (lime juice) : 2tsp
Cloves: 5
Cinnamon ; 2 small pieces
Honey: 1tsp
Curry leaves, mint leaves, dhanya leves optional
Water: plus minus 7 cups
Method
1. Peel turmeric root. Use gloves it may stain your hand.
2. Peel ginger and garlic.
3. Wash peeled turmeric, ginger, garlic and crush or chopp them to small pieces.
4. Powder black pepper or crush them and keep aside.
5. Crush cinnamon and cloves in to small pieces.
6. Place plus minus seven cups of water in a pot. When water is about to boil, add crushed turmeric, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, cloves, and mix well. ( if you have curry leaves, dhanya or mint add that too)
7. Boil for plus minus seven minutes. Note the colour change,
8. Switch off stove. Then add lemon juice. Drin the tea.
9. Add honey when it cools down. Do not add honey to hot tea. Serve hot or cold.
