NYC's spiciest Thai food is at Ayada in Elmhurst, Queens. If you ask for "Thai Spicy" you may find 20-30 chiles in ONE dish! Watch as NYC Food Guy Lawrence Weibman dines on Kana Moo Krob (pork belly fried with Chinese broccoli, chile, garlic and soy sauce), pork larb, som tum thai (papaya salad) with fried catfish and the raw shrimp salad, all before eating the incredible fried bananas from Chef Duangja (Kitty) Thammasat. She learned how to cook at home, no culinary school, and as a result she makes her own rules when it comes to creating new dishes. And the results are incendiary and delicious.
