For the first time, the City of Ada, OK, is manufacturing its own asphalt, a move that will greatly increase the amount of streets that can be resurfaced without adding more days to the calendar. The city purchased a KPI-JCI Cold-Mix Asphalt Plant, also known as a pugmill, which combines the base ingredients into a high-quality material suitable for street resurfacing projects. KPI-JCI pugmill plants provide the portability required, featuring the aggressive mixing action of the KPI pugmill. The continuous mix pugmill includes two counter rotating shafts with paddles, along with timing gears which provide optimum speed to obtain the quality mix desired. Controlled blending and automatic proportioning insures that the end product is the consistency the customer requires. Coupled with the optional feed systems, the KPI-JCI pugmill plant provides unparalleled ease of operation and portability required. © City of Ada, Oklahoma and DustBowl Films
