On our last day in Tasmania we spent a few hours at Mount Field National Park as we were driving through the area on our way back from the Southwest and camping at Teds Beach.
We parked at the visitor centre and departed for our walk to Russell Falls which was a short one. The walk was beautiful and followed a creek. There was a sign for glow worms that you can see in that area at night which is very rare as they're not inside a cave.
Shortly after we arrived at Russell Falls and it was 100% worth going to! It was quite tall and has 2 tiers before the water flows down into the creek below the boardwalk you're standing on. Definitely one of the better waterfalls we'd seen in Tasmania.
There was a sign to continue walking to Horseshoe Falls so we did that and although the walk was great, the waterfall wasn't as good as the first one.
We then drove into the National Park to do the Tall Trees Walk. It was another short walk, a 1km circuit. We spent time wandering through and admiring the Swamp Gum’s (Eucalyptus Regnans) which are the tallest flowering plant in the world.
