Oberoi Group started with one man's passion to build the finest hotels in the country. Rai Bahadur M S Oberoi, took over mediocre to run-down hotels and converted them into India's icons.

Even today they are considered some of the best-run hotels in the country. While Oberoi Group developed and nurtured a cadre of professional managers since its early days, today, the group is headed by 3rd generation family members of the founding family. Unlike some of its other Indian competitors, Oberois have remained focused on High-end luxury hotels.

They now have a strategic investment from the Ambani family of Reliance Industries Limited.
