I'll tell you right now, this episode definitely didn't turn out how I expected! Following the wrap up, and dinner on Day 1 I made the call to push on to Nashville early, which should set me up for a quick easy drive on Day 2. So far the 2024 Hot Rod Power Tour was going great, the little black 1991 GMC Syclone is doing well, and everything was trending my way. Unfortunately after a night out on the town I got back to my hotel and things were... less than great. HRPT is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get!
So with an incredibly late start I jumped into Nashville traffic and made my way to Nashville Super Speedway, one of the most dreaded venues of the past years. For the Hot Rod Power Tour 2024 though, I discovered the secret to no lines! Fortunately I was able to meet up with several other YouTuber friends, Derek of Vice Grip Garage, Jacob of Sally's Speed Shop, Kevin of Junkyard Digs and several others as we all hung out "after the show" before they kicked us off the property.
