친러 법원, 우크라전 참전 외국인 3명에 사형 선고
Two Britons and a Moroccan captured while fighting for Ukraine have been sentenced to death by a court in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.
The court issued the sentence on Thursday, finding the three men guilty of "mercenary activities" and claiming that they attempted to seize power and overthrow the republic's constitutional order.
The three men were captured while fighting for Ukraine against Russia.
The families of the two British men have insisted they are long-serving members of the Ukrainian military and not mercenaries,... having lived in Ukraine since 2018.
A spokesperson for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the case a show trial,... citing immunity guaranteed to combatants under the Geneva Convention.
