Ham Pot Pie
Dough:
2 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 beaten eggs
cold water
Stock:
2 smoked ham hocks
2 medium carrots
1 medium onion
2 medium potatoes
pepper to taste
Start stock by boiling water in a medium or large stock pot. Add ham hocks, sliced carrots, and diced onion.
Make dough. Beat eggs and add to two cups of flour. mix well, and start adding small amounts of cold water until a workable dough is formed. Roll dough out to desired thickness (1/8 for thin, 1/4 inch for thick) dough patches. Cut into squares.
Remove hocks after they are done cooking. Add dough patches to simmering stock, also add sliced peeled potatoes. Cook until dough patches are tender, add boned ham back in and simmer another 5-10 minutes. Serve with butter bread and red beets if you have them!
