Here's the musical life story of founding father Ben Franklin. I've made a correction about the correct age of his passing...I sang 81. It should have been 84. I always enjoy the challenge of making these rhymes and songs, though some details pass by my eyes and sadly, I don't always catch them! I hope you enjoy it!

Lyrics:
On a Boston Sunday, Ben arrived
January 17th, ‘round 5:00
1706, the year
The Franklin name added one more
Went to school, but was mostly self-taught
When Ben was 12, it was then work, he sought
Printer’s apprentice to his brother, James
At 17, left to explore
Chorus
Opened his print shop at 22
In Philadelphia, expressed his view
Published a newspaper and almanack
‘Poor Richard’s’ for 25 years
At 24, Ben fell for Deborah
Who then became his wife through Common Law
They had three children, one had died at four
While Ben prospered at his career
Chorus
Founder Benjamin Franklin, a scientist and statesman
His word spread by his hand, across the sea and land
A wealthy man, he left the printing trade
In ‘47, then new plans, he made
Postmaster General for the Colonies
Found lightning was ‘lectricity
In England, Ben tried to negotiate
to end the regulations they’d instate
upon the colonies, but war began
Returned to the fight to be free
Chorus
Ben helped create our Declaration,
the French alliance for the nation
Pressed ratifying the Constitution
The year, 1789
April 17, 1790
Ben died at 84, peacefully
His face is on the hundred dollar bill
Both of high value in our mind
Both of high value in our mind
