Florida Hospital for Children opened the first and only pediatric bone marrow transplant unit in Central Florida, under the direction of Dr. Paul Gordon, medical director of the pediatric bone marrow transplant program at Florida Hospital for Children. Though they have been providing stem cell transplants to pediatric patients since June 2011, this new facility has been designed with the latest technology and equipped with the best staff. They have diligently worked to make this new 8-bed unit as kid-friendly and scare-free as possible for children dealing with cancer and other blood disorders. The rooms are very colorful and provide customizable lighting. View the video below to get a glimpse of the new bone marrow transplant unit.
