My Grandfather Jerry Bohms was an Alaska Pioneer, Aviator, and respected and loved member of the Fairbanks community. After he passed away, I inherited his Benrus 3 Star (or Tri-Star) watch. These watches are a self-winding Swiss mechanism that had final assembly in America. More importantly, it was part of his story as a pioneer and aviator.
I found Randall Zadar at Cleveland Watch Repair and contacted him to have the watched repaired to operating condition, cleaned, and generally restored. He did an absolutely fantastic job at a very reasonable price.
Since getting it back, I've been enjoying this connection to and reminder of where I came from. Thank you for your work on this piece, Randall.
