I love Thai food. One of my favorite Thai desserts is Khao Niew Mamuang or Thai Sticky Rice with Mangoes. You can make the sticky rice plain or you can flavor and color it with pandan or ube. The secret to this dessert is the addition of salt to give it a nice salty sweet flavor. I used the Thai method of steaming the rice which for me is foolproof because you no longer need to estimate how much water you need to add to cook the rice. What is important is that you soak the sticky rice (malagkit or glutinous rice) overnight so you can steam it without the addition of water to the rice. I hope you will enjoy my version as much as I enjoy them!
