Taken from the 1958 Hampton Hawes album: "Four!" this 5-star record from AllMusic.com finds bassist Red Mitchell is stellar form alongside Shelly Manne and Barney Kessel. Mitchell's use of rhythm and space make for great bebop language and solid note choices. As someone who has played this tune countless times on gigs and jam sessions, it is certainly nice to hear some other solos ideas from one of the great bassists in jazz history.
