Bira is a tiny town on the Indian Ocean with lots of accommodation (usually small) for the locals who throng the clean, brilliantly white sand. Loaded with snorkelers swimming to the close coral reef, and divers heading out for the day.
Avid scuba divers already know that Sulawesi is one of the premier diving spots in the entire world but this was news to me. If your druthers are "sea critters" and everything Marine, Sulawesi is for you. Unfortunately, no time for snorkeling this trip...perhaps another time.
