The current president of the Austin Police Retired Officer Association, Dennis Farris is the VIP of episode 383.
Farris moved to Round Rock at age 15 and was a graduate of Round Rock High School.
He became an equipment manager for the Texas Longhorns football program in the early 1980s and later became a police officer for UT's police department and late the Austin PD.
A 30-year career in law enforcement.
Farris has some legendary stories about witnessing Austin change as well as some tied to Texas Longhorn football program during the Fred Akers era. He almost earned a national title ring from the 1983 season.
During the episode we discussed what all has changed in Austin including UT football, city leadership, and Austin becoming the largest city in the SEC.
