Wes Eisenhauer was on holiday in Custer, South Dakota, when he set up his camera to capture images of the Milky Way. He only discovered the amazing pictures of the meteor a week after he got home when he sped up the images to create a time-lapse and spotted the quick movement as it broke apart in the sky.
