(3 Oct 1994) Haitians on Monday (3/10) looted and vandalised the FRAPH
paramilitary headquarters in Port-au-Prince as soon as US soldiers
left the building after a raid to seize FRAPH personnel and
weapons. The crowds broke up furniture and destroyed the offices.
Others outside the headquarters cheered the looters on. The
American troops then returned to the headquarters to restore
order. One man who was alleged to be a FRAPH "attache" was beaten
up by the crowd before soldiers rescued him.
