A blanket of smog cover Delhi on Monday and the air quality reached hazardous levels as locals were left gasping for fresh air. PM 2.5 levels reached as high as 644, which is 20 times over the limit prescribe by the WHO. Locals have complained about congestion and respiratory problems due to failing air quality. With Delhi’s air quality expected to deteriorate further post Diwali, several schools have started taking precautionary measures.
The Supreme Court recently implemented a partial ban on firecrackers, but how far will the ban help control the air quality in the capital?
