Women's Grand Slam tennis history is a long and storied one, dating back to the 1887 Wimbledon Championships. Over the years, there have been many great players who have graced the courts, but a few stand out above the rest.
Margaret Court is the all-time leader in Grand Slam titles, with 24 singles titles, 21 doubles titles, and 21 mixed doubles titles. She won 114 singles titles in all, more than any other player in history. Court also won the Grand Slam twice, in 1963 and 1970.
Steffi Graf is the only player to win the Golden Slam, which is winning all four Grand Slams and the Olympic gold medal in the same year. She did this in 1988, when she also won the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open. Graf also won 22 Grand Slam singles titles, second only to Court.
Serena Williams is the most successful player in the Open Era, with 23 Grand Slam singles titles. She is also the only player to win all four Grand Slams in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles in the same year. Williams has won 72 career Grand Slam titles in total, more than any other player in history.

Maureen Connolly: Connolly won all four Grand Slams in singles in 1953, becoming the first woman to do so. She also won the French Open twice in 1951 and 1952.
Chris Evert: Evert won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, including a record seven at the French Open. She also won the US Open six times and the Australian Open once.
Martina Navratilova: Navratilova won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, including four at the Australian Open, three at the French Open, two at Wimbledon, and nine at the US Open. She also won 109 Grand Slam doubles titles and 40 mixed doubles titles.
Billie Jean King: King won 24 Grand Slam titles in total, including 21 in doubles and 3 in singles. She is also the only player to win the Wightman Cup 10 times.
