Egusi is the West African name for the seeds of a specie of melon. When dried and ground they become a staple ingredient in many West African dishes.
Egusi soup is a finger licking Nigerian soup, it's spicy, nutty and filled with exotic African flavors. It's one of the most popular soups prepared by most tribes in Nigeria with different variations and eaten with any fufu of your choice. It's known as Ofe Egusi in Igbo, Miyan Gushi in Hausa and Efo Elegusi in Yoruba.
