This is the 3rd update of this popular Lodging video by Glacier NP expert travel Guide Steve Salis. The recent popularity of the Glacier makes it difficult to stay in a lodge in the Park as rooms must be booked many months and usually a year in advance.
We tour the three Historic Lodges- Glacier Park Lodge, Lake McDonald Lodge and the Many Glacier Hotel and visit The Prince of Wales Hotel in Glacier's Canadian Sister Park- Waterton Lakes National Park.
We also tour the Park's many Motor Inns- They are like motels and they are our guides favorite places to stay. They are located at Rising Sun, Many Glacier, Apgar Village and Lake McDonald. We also see the small "uncluttered" cabins.
To determine the best place to stay you'll need know what you want to do in the park. So, hiking and wildlife at each each is discussed. Where you stay depends on
You'll also learn about the campgrounds. Only few of the campgrounds accept reservations.
When staying outside the park, you will need a Vehicle Reservation Ticket just to get in the park.
