This is my belated Independence Day special (and the intro was a last-minute addition too). I chose to remaster this using a different, but hopefully relatable event in honor of the holiday.
As the major Democratic and Republican parties were formed after many different factions (despite George Washington's discouragement of political parties) the two disagreed over slavery to the brink of war. The First Battle of Bull Run at Manassas Junction was fought in hopes to address and resolve the issue, and this battle, as with the second one there, was a Confederate victory. These battles were still steps toward winning freedom for African-American people even after General Robert E. Lee's peaceful surrender to the Union and the Civil War's end. About 85-90 years prior, Colonial America fought to break free, or independent, from Great Britain and its tax system, and form the United States of America, "one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
I originally composed this impromptu starting in October 2013 with no theme; I was mainly inspired by video game music. As summer 2015 rolled around, I decided I wanted a theme to accommodate the idea for the victory fanfare at 2:44. Battle at Manassas has since stuck.
