Biography
Forming this band to further express my ideas meant I created a new challenge for myself now as a lead vocalist and guitarist from what I learnt in all previous bands. For me it was an extension and progression for many of the ideas and creative methods learnt and absorbed from Kikx. I wrote and experimented with my own original songs in the format of a classic 60's and 70's power-pop trio. The band adopted the idea of "less is more" similar to The Police and XTC. Musicians were pushed to the limits of their skills in creating a full sound. Worked with photography, graphics, video, film and broadcast media. Songs were quirky and covered coastal and urban/industrial themes. Fused influences of punk, new wave, jazz and electronica. The band completed one 16 track recording project at David Williams York Street Studios, Melbourne with Alan Kelly and Bill Dart Producing and Michael Letho Engineering and mixing.
We did extensive recordings of rehearsals, songs in progress and live performances playing Geelong, Melbourne and coastal shows. Played supports to Men at Work, INXS, Hunters and Collectors, The Divinyls, Mental as Anything, The Machinations, Paul Kelly, Michael Thomas and The Never Never Band, Goanna, Sherbert, AEIOU and The Little Heroes.
Many live desk tapes of live performances exist and some will be released in future to streaming platforms.
