We share a lot of Pheno Hunting videos but we've yet to dive into the testing that we do after selecting. In this video we use a GemmaCert near infrared spectrometer which we've found to be very quick and accurate for comparing phenotype selections for THC levels. We also often use a Liquid Chromatograph made by Orange Photonics. Either tool shows the vast difference in lab techniques that can produce a 40% THC result in a California lab (physically impossible), but with the same sample produce a 22% THC result with much more accurate techniques. Regardless, the ridiculous inflation of THC percentage in many rec markets, driven by the commercialization of cannabis, isn't the point here. We use these tools for comparative analysis of our phenotype selections so we can raise THC, other Cannabinoids, or terpene levels beyond the ability of our senses to choose. With all of the new interest that we see in cannabis breeding (flower is apparently not paying the bills) folks will likely encounter a lot of seed that's never been bred. Finding an individual phenotype (clone) that's never been pure bred or worked at all and then crossing that with another hype clone will produce a vast array of progeny and the farmer will be left with the luck of the draw. We'll keep working hard to take the gamble out of growing and give the cannabis cultivator winners every single time. We can't wait to see what you grow with our 2023 line up!!!
