Using a single mic is something that only brave people, and poor people, are willing to try. Let's see if we can get some cool tones from using a single shure sm57 to mic up an entire drum kit.

UPDATE: It's possible that dirty power, plus using unbalanced cables into a vintage DBX unit, is what fried the MPX. And yes my MPX was fried. When they got the unit back, 48v power wasn't working and an output capacitor was fried. This was NOT due to heat, or covering the vents, as they specifically told me that they run them covered without issue. I will discuss all of this more fully on the next episode.
