Neonatal jaundice is a common problem, but when jaundice is prolonged, we need to rule out conjugated jaundice (suggestive of cholestasis)-this is a serious problem as there is a risk of conditions like biliary atresia that need urgent treatment. In this video, I discuss details related to Dubin Johnson syndrome and Rotor syndrome, which cause conjugated jaundice, but not cholestasis.
