I wanted a compact companion for my Ricoh GRiii, with an awesome lens, something between a 35mm and a 55mm with a fast aperture, a shallow depth of field, and sharp glass. A full frame sensor with 40-50 megapixels, good low light performance, great dynamic range. The Sony RX1R ii was my first choice. Second choice would be a Leica Q2.

I ended up trying something else!
