“Nice catch,” the doctor said sarcastically. “I got blood on my new shoes,” the nurse responded… there I was like a limp rag doll…
This is the story of my birth. Everyone has a story. There’s nothing special about me. I only want to share this with you to give glory to God for saving my life, and to encourage you, that no matter how hopeless your situation may be, God is able to do the impossible.
Back in the old days, people would stand up in church and give testimony of what God had done in their lives. A testimony is a powerful thing. It's easy to get so anxious about our present circumstances that we forget what God has already done in our lives. Preach to yourself. Remind yourself of what God has already brought you through! He is faithful! The same God who delivered you from the lion and the bear is more than able to deliver your from any giant you may be facing today. He is good. He is able. He is faithful.
"But David said to Saul, 'Your servant was tending his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and took a sheep from the flock, I went out after it and attacked it, and rescued the sheep from its mouth; and when it rose up against me, I grabbed it by its mane and struck it and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he has defied the armies of the living God.'”
(1 Samuel 17:34-36)
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." (Revelation 12:11)
I don’t know why God doesn’t save everyone. I don’t know why God doesn’t heal everyone. I don’t know why God doesn’t deliver everyone. I do know that if you live long enough, you will face tragedy in your life. I have no platitudes or simple answers to offer…life has beaten those out of me. But I cannot deny the mercy and healing that has been given to me. And for that, I am thankful.
