After finding out my friends are afraid that their tiny dogs will be snatched/killed/eaten by birds, I try to find out if their fears are justified. What I find out instead is that a bunch of raptors – especially North American peregrine falcons – were on the edge of extinction because of the insecticides humans were using. Good news is, thanks to the efforts of organizations like the Canadian Peregrine Foundation and the Mountsberg Raptor Centre, these raptors are making a comeback. And that comeback means more than a few of them moving to the big city...
Special thanks to:
Canadian Peregrine Foundation – they worked super hard to get peregrine numbers back up from the brink by doing the extreme work of scaling down buildings to tag and protect falcons.

Mountsberg Raptor Centre – Cool place doing great work. When a raptor gets hurt and can’t survive in the wild, this is where they go. Check it out for yourself, donate, or even volunteer!
