Novo Cucina
This was opened by Chef Riccardo Ullio of Sotto Sotto and Fritti earlier this summer. What keeps the vibe lively are wide-open floor plan and striking tile floors. A lot of fire-kissed Neapolitan style pizzas are offered, and they range from classic Margherita down to playful Paperino, spiced with fries and hot dogs for kids. In the style of Sotto Sotto, appetizers and Homemade pasta dishes are more grown. A wine bar features a state-of-the-art enomatic machine and this enables sampling bottles on their cellar.
Takorea
This is related to Hankook Taqueria, the marriage of Korean and Mexican cuisines for one of the spicier spots in town. "Takos" tout different tasty combinations with creative specials such as salmon with pineapple pico and Sriracha aioli. Other few amalgamated dishes are bulgogi-inspired nachos, sesame fries with chipotle ketchup and Kimchi fried rice. Margaritas have just as much flare with varieties such as blueberry and jalapeno.
Com Vietnamese Grill
This spot provides Vietnamese dishes combined with colonial French and Chinese influences in both ornate décor cuisine. However, this is no longer owned by the original com folks on Buford Highway but the menu is rife with Vietnamese classics and similar dishes.
Village Burger
This is where you will find hand-formed, hand-cut fries and fresh Angus beef patties. It has a pop vibe and a true mom with counter service and a young staff that adds to the flip-flop feel and beachy summer vacation.
Farm Burger
The reputation of these carnivores is staked on burgers made from grass-fed beef, ground fresh and dry-aged. Farm burgers offer a chef-driven menu sourced from local farms. GMOs are a no-no and more sustainable food buzzwords that you can shake a pitchfork at. With some bottles of craft beers, this evokes the gothic American spirit.
Food Truck Thursdays
Form April down to October, the rad fad of food on the move takes shape at Brook Run Park, which brings the community together with a selection of eats on the wheels. The smells of the season are everywhere just like the sight and sounds of the season. You may want to ask what summer smells like. To us, its smell is like that of summer cookouts. Follow the moves of your nose to Dunwoody, a place where burgers and barbecue are deliciously and delightfully made. An entire blog is devoted to this by us.
BBQ CHAMPS
One of the most interesting things about BBQ is that it hits the right spot and the time of the year does not matter. As long as it’s permitted by the weather, we believe the grill should be fired up any time of the day. However, in a situation where your grilling skills are below par, let people do it for you – someone like Melissa Cookston – a 7-time world barbecue champion, the owner of Memphis Barbecue Company and the winningest woman in BBQ.
Our suggestion is starting with the most popular appetizer, the BBQ nachos. Have a nice time with the fresh fried chips piled with pulled pork, sour cream, queso dip, tomatoes, BBQ sauce, jalapenos, and lettuce.
Interesting right? After this, you can work your way out to your preferred entrée: baby back ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, etc. Throw in a side of mac and cheese or red beans and rice and you are well on your way to a food coma. You can try donut burger if you feel like walking on the wild side.
The Scene
You will walk hand-in-hand through two big wooden doors and you will be instantly hit by the savory aroma of delicious food wafting in the air.
You will be welcomed by two friendly hostesses who will take you through a beautiful room that is filled with white tablecloths. You will be amazed by the aroma of the meats the busy waiters are serving on skewers. There is a big buffet table sitting in the center of the room overflowing with colorful fruits, vegetables, etc. Cue mouthwatering.
