Wildfires in South Korea's eastern coastal areas have been active for the longest time since 1986... when the country first compiled data.
The wildfires from Uljin in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province... have spread to Samcheok in Gangwon-do Province... and have been active for more than a week, or some 192 hours as of this morning.
Troops, firefighters, and helicopters are still struggling to contain the fire.
So far, reports say 85 percent of the blaze is under control.
The massive wildfires have damaged more than 20-thousand hectares of land... as of this morning.
Rain is expected tomorrow in those regions.
