Do you guys have elbow pain when you lift weights? Are your workouts suffering because of it? I have had this problem, but I am here to tell you how to correct your elbow situation. Watch this to see how to fix elbow pain when lifting weights.
So...what is causing the elbow pain? There are several different types of elbow pain conditions… The two most common that I come across are Golfer’s Elbow, which is pain just inside your inner elbows...and then Tennis Elbow, which is pain on the outside of your elbow.
This means you have increased inflammation in your tendons due to overuse. I am going to give you 5 things to focus on to help you improve your elbow health and get back to have awesome workouts.
The first thing you want to do is APPLY HEAT. After your workouts, apply a heating pad for about 15 minutes. That will help bring blood and nutrients to the elbow, to help speed up the healing process.
The next thing you need to do is STRETCH YOUR WRISTS.
Next… LIGHTEN THE LOAD. Get a weight that you can control with your actual muscles.
Also, when lifting weights, instead of using barbells, USE DUMBBELLS. Dumbbells allow more flexibility when doing your exercises, which will help protect your wrists because they will be in a more comfortable position.
The last thing you want to do is WORK YOUR FOREARMS. Do equal work for both flexors and extensors.
