South America From Above, our drone video shows the dramatic confluence of the Rio Baker (the largest in Chile by volume) and the Rio Nef. The confluence sits along Chile's famous Carretera Austral between Puerto Guadal and Puerto Bertrand to the north and close to Patagonia National Park and the city of Cochrane to the south.
The blue Baker River flows out of Bertrand Lake, which is fed by General Carrera Lake. It runs along the east side of the Northern Patagonian Ice Field and ultimately empties into the Pacific Ocean near the town of Caleta Tortel.
The grey Nef River is fed by Nef Glacier and is subsumed by the Baker River at the confluence point.
