This week, NPR and PBS’ FRONTLINE teamed up for a joint investigation into the nation's affordable housing crisis. They found that although the federal government spends nearly $50 billion a year to help low-income individuals and families get access to affordable rentals –there are still more than 11 million households that are paying more than half of their income on rent; struggling to find affordable place to live.

NPR’s Laura Sullivan joins us via Skype to discuss her findings while researching two key federal programs set up to help these “rent-burdened” households, and we look at possible solutions for the housing crisis in South Florida.
