Eric "Licorice" Ritchie, former Top laner of Cloud9 and Golden Guardians and currently of Dignitas, is the star of the 402nd Episode of 'Reflections'. This is episode two of three about Licorice's career.

Licorice began competing in the challenger scene in NA with eUnited, playing alongside the legendary DanDy, and would be directly recruited to Cloud9 as the Top lane replacement for Impact for S8. Cloud9 were an elite team that year, despite the infamous benching incident of summer, and were only eliminated from both play-off campaigns by eventual champions Team Liquid, the summer run being a finals loss.

S8 Worlds began a little shaky but C9 heated up and would shock the world by becoming the first Western team to defeat a Korean team in a Bo5 series at Worlds or MSI. A loss to FNATIC in the semis ended Licorice's first ever Worlds run in the semis, the furthest an NA team had been at the competition.

In S9 Cloud9 was again a contender but would be denied titles again and while the squad would make it to Worlds they did not progress from a group containing MSI winners G2 and Chovy's Griffin. S10 was the online year and C9 destroyed the LCS in spring, winning Licorice his first and only LCS title, but then bizarrely fell apart in summer and finished fourth and thus missed out on a Worlds berth.

Licorice ended up on FlyQuest for the first half of 2021 before signing for Golden Guardians in summer. The following year saw the team improve but still not challenge for the title. Everything changed in 2023 as GGS shocked the LCS by making a run to the final of LCS. This earned them an MSI berth, as the format now took the top two from each region, and despite being eliminated early they were able to show a decent outing against eventual champions JDG.

GGS were an elite side during most of summer but disappointed in the play-offs and while they got the chance to qualify to Worlds by facing LEC's BDS the series ended up being a humiliating loss and Licorice would not go to his third Worlds.

At the end of 2023 Licorice, who had improved his status in the competitive space massively over the year, found himself teamless as Golden Guardians decided to leave the LCS and he had chosen to stay in the line-up. He sat out for the spring split of this year and has now signed with Dignitas for summer.

In part two, Licorice talks about why he thinks of Gimgoon often, C9's dominance and collapse in 2020, getting kicked, time in FlyQuest and Golden Guardians and perceptions of Top lane.
