We're spotlighting various people in the dairy sector and how varied the careers available are. Emma Sloan and Ali Cook at Hurkledale Farm talk through what it it like to work on a dairy farm - and surprisingly how the biggest trend coming up for the industry is robotics.
They have around 20 staff and milk 1500 cows through a rotary parlour. Ali is keen that young people explore dairy as a career option, they are crying out for young people. Emma doesn't come from an agriculture background - she came into it by accident, as she says - but fell in love with cows and farming.
Technology and computing have a big role to play in the future of dairies.
