Developments in the plant, particularly the introduction of an activator in the spodumene plant, have rapidly increased recovery rates to nearly 90%.
The current production rate is 50 tons per day of spodumene, with expectations to increase this rate through minor adjustments in the scrubbing circuit.
The plant is currently operating at 50% capacity with plans to increase to full design capacity soon.
CEO George Roach is currently in Harare to manage the export procedures necessary for shipping the product. The company anticipates generating revenue as soon as exports begin.
The company has a contractual obligation to supply spodumene to Canmax, which is prepared to purchase their output. The spodumene concentrate being produced meets market specifications and there is strong market demand.
There are plans further enhance various aspects of the production process, including upgrading the magnetic separation technology, replacing the ore sorters and adjusting the milling process.
Recent measurements indicate a higher spodumene grade in the mined ore than initially estimated, which confirms the quality of the mineral resource.
The immediate focus is on managing regulatory and procedural requirements to facilitate the export of the spodumene concentrate.
