Citta dei Sassi is a massive sport climbing crag near Passo Sella. Citta dei Sassi has 11 sectors and an immense number of bouldering problems too! Here there are over 300 sport climbing routes!

Citta dei Sassi is great for the beginner or intermediate sport climber. Most sport climbing routes are within French grade 5 and 6, but there are easier routes, well-suited for the beginner rock climbers and kids too.

If you are looking for hard sport climbing, then there are a few 7a and 7b’s, but you should probably consider going to Sass Dlacia or the Tridentina Crag near Passo Gardena instead. But if you want to push your sport climbing into French grade 6b and 6c, then Citta dei Sassi in the Italian Dolomites is an ideal spot, because the sheer number of routes is just impressive! And this is one of the best sport climbing spots in Italy!

As with other Italian sport climbing crags, Citta dei Sassi is really well bolted, so you can really push yourself. Generally, I would say that sport climbing crags in Italy are pretty well bolted with about 1-2 meters between the bolts. So, this is absolutely great if you sport climb at your limit because you will always feel well protected.

Finding Citta dei Sassi is quite easy. The sport climbing crag is situated at Passo Sella with the spectacular east face of Sassolungo in plain sight.
