Traditional Indian Mustard Dip. A popular relish from the eastern part of India. Use it as a dip, a condiment or a spread.
Ingredients
Black Mustard seeds
Yellow Mustard seeds
Cumin seeds
Coriander seeds
Fenugreek seeds
Fennel seeds
Dried red chillies
Bay leaves
Mustard oil
White vinegar
Black Salt
Sugar
Turmeric
Raw Mango
Ginger
Green Chillies
Preparation
Dry roast all the spices Cumin seeds Coriander seeds Fennel seeds Dried red chillies Bay leaves
Now add the dry roasted spices with a cup of yellow and black mustard seeds and grind them in a mixer to form a powder.
Sieve the powder. In the same mixer grind raw mango ginger and green chillies (add a little bit water) to form a paste.
Mix the mango paste and mustard powder.
Add vinegar and mix well Add seasoning sugar, black salt and turmeric and mix well Pour hot mustard oil and mix well Mustard kasundi is ready!
You can store in the refrigerator or in a cool dry place and use it for few month as it wont go bad.
